The first day of Navarathiri is dedicated to Goddess Shailaputri.
Who is Goddess Shailaputri?
Devi Shailaputri manifests the power of 3 murthis: Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva. She rides a bull and holds a trident and a lotus in her two hands.
Goddess Shailaputri is Devi of the root chakra, who, upon awakening, begins her journey upwards—sitting on a cow and making her first journey from the Muladhara chakra.
